Fruitoids Slot Review

fruitodsRecently launched in May, 2014, Fruitoids is yet another exciting and pleasing slot from the house of Yggdrasil Gaming. One must agree to the fact that Yggdrasil has actually come up with an appealing set of slots, some of them having some real good features. Fruitoids is their fourth slot after Jokerizer, Winterberries, and Robotnik, and it works on many levels, despite being the simplest of all. The average return to player is decent for this 5-reel slot at 96.7%.

The Fruitoids slot and all other Yggdrasil games are available at the popular Vera & John online casino!

Design and Theme

Going by the theme, Fruitoids has compelling graphics and remarkable sounds, but talking of the gameplay, the game is much similar to Winterberries, both in wins and pays. Running on proprietary software, this slot has a unique design and appeal, which is good to go and not similar to fruit machines or designs in 5-reel slots that we all are used to. The makers have placed the button for sounds, rules and pay table right on the slot, so there is nothing amiss here. The slot does have an auto-play mode right next to the spin button, where you can choose for a number of automatic spin between 10 and 1000.

Fruitoids is a 5-reel slot that comes with 25 pay lines, which are fixed in the game, much in line with the other three slots released from Yggdrasil Gaming. The game has a feel and mode that’s somewhere close to Winterberries, although the themes are widely different. The symbols of the slot look like space fruits, but strangely one cannot find the games. The symbols are extremely different from one another, so you won’t have much struggle to distinguish. The violet berry is the largest paying symbol and offers the pay of 500, when appearing five times in the reel.

Since the pay lines are fixed, you need to decide on the coin size, starting from 0.01 to 2. The maximum bet is just 50, which should be a pleasing fact for regular gamers.

Fruitoids has a re-spin feature along with a freeze feature and column multiplier. The multiplier for each column is mentioned on the top of the reel. The rule is very simple- you get winning combinations on the pay line rules (shown in the pay table) and as you keep filling the columns starting from the left, you get the multiplier. This works through the freeze feature, where the winning symbols will freeze and the rest of the other symbols will be a part for the re-spin.

If you are lucky, more one of a kind symbol will be added to the static ones, and you will gave the multiplier for the respective column, to a maximum of 5x. When there are no more wins, the round will stop. Sadly, that is all about Fruitoids. There are no bonus rounds, wilds or scatters here, which in way is disappointing for a new slot. Especially after a similar themed slot like Winterberries, one expected more from the makers in terms of features. The ARP is good, so that can be a reason to play this slot.

Yggdrasil Gaming has certainly changed and come up with a new theme with Fruitoids, but the features are pretty much same as what we have already seen from them. The re-spin feature is decent and good when one hits off the same early in the game. Apart from that, it’s the graphics and clean user theme that will grab the most attention. If you have been itching for a new and innovative slot, take a try on this newly launched Yggdrasil slot.
